UniRocketeers World Championship 2024 Primer

The Main Event of the UR World Championship approaches – which Team will be crowned the best collegiate Rocket League team of the 2023-2024 academic year?

Teams representing EU, NA, MENA, OCE, SAM, and SSA have played through the Regional Qualifiers to earn their spot in the UR World Championship Main Event! Mark your calendars for all the action on 10th & 11th August, starting at 12:00 EDT / 18:00 CEST both days.

Find out how competition works and where to catch all the games below.

FORMAT

Competition is split over two days, with one dedicated to the Swiss Stage and one reserved for the Playoffs.

The Swiss Stage will contain 16 Teams competing in an RLCS-Style Swiss Bracket. All matches will be Best-of-5 (Bo5). Teams ending the Swiss Stage with a positive record (3-0, 3-1, or 3-2) will progress to the Playoffs, while Teams with a negative record (2-3, 1-3 or 0-3) will be eliminated.

The Playoffs will feature the Final 8 Teams competing in a Single Elimination Bracket. All matches will be Best-of-7 (Bo7). The winner will be crowned UniRocketeers World Champions 2024!

The full tournament bracket is available on the UR Worlds 2024 Mastersheet complete with team rosters, standings, and broadcast links.

WHAT ABOUT PING?

Our team of Admins from around the world have been collecting data to determine the best servers and routing for every inter-regional match-up.

Wherever possible we will be playing on midpoint servers which offer equal ping to both teams. For example, the Round 1 match between Genoa (EU) and Mackenzie (SAM) will be played on NA-East servers.

For match-ups where no midpoint server exists, we will instead play the match on alternating servers, with the higher-seeded team starting on their “Home” server. For example, in the Round 1 match between St. Clair (NA) and Lincoln (EU), Game 1 will be played on NA-East servers, with Game 2 on EU servers.
